*Instead we have invested in OWN SIRE so we know exactly what kind of puppies to expect. 

*Good breeders will not breed several breeds, rather they will focus on 1 or 2 breeds at the most.
This is because we care and specialize and we are devoted to this certain breed.

*We breed quality Maltese, not just puppies.
*We can focus our attention and care on our own puppies.
*People actually comment on how happy & healthy our mom looks as she smiles all the time
and on how healthy our puppies look! Even our puppies smile at us!

DOG BROKERS have ads up all of the time and NEVER RUN OUT of puppies. 
They carry several DIFFERENT BREEDS, ALL AT THE SAME TIME!

They carry the small breeds, Maltese, "Teacup" varieties, Morkies, Pomeranian, Yorkies because these tiny puppies sell fast.
Dog brokers NEVER run out of puppies 
because the MILLS never run out of puppies! 
Dog brokers may look more affordable as they are charging less for their puppies,
but you can't cut corners when raising puppies and expect health or any kind of quality.

These brokers pick very young puppies up, sell them for a price they will "move" fast and get more.
These puppies are too young to be separated from their parents which is 8 weeks and under!

We keep our Maltese puppies with their mother until they are at least 10-12 weeks of age,
so you are guaranteed a stable puppy, these early weeks are crucial in a dog's life
as they will set the foundation for entire life of your dog!

they do not use breeding services.
*THEY CANNOT AFFORD TO SHARE THEIR PROFITS WITH DOG BROKERS

This is not logical. Reputable Breeders want to sell their OWN dogs!

We bring our puppies to the vet to get them checked, dewormed and also have a certificate of good health from the vet for them,
our puppies also come with one year health warranty.

The bottom line is DOG BROKERS CANNOT GUARANTEE any kind of QUALITY 
because they DO NOT PERSONALLY CARE FOR ANY ADULTS,
NOR DID THEY PERSONALLY BREED OR RAISE THE PUPPIES they are trying to sell you,
in fact, they know very little about the dog because they have JUST BOUGHT THE PUPPY THEMSELVES.

These appalling conditions are pf a picture of a typical real Puppy Mill.
There are many, many puppy mills in Ontario all supported and kept in business by pet stores and dog brokers
and ultimately customers choosing to buy from pet stores or dog brokers.
When you choose to buy a puppy from a pet store or dog broker, you are not saving or rescuing a life,
rather, you are aiding in keeping the mills going.
Make the right choice!

We love our dogs dearly and we care what kind of puppies we put into the world,
our puppies will not be full of health problems.

Some Maltese breeders may have one parent, usually the mother,
but they have not invested the expense into getting proper breeding parents, premium food, enough space,
so the puppies don't have to be crated, or the time it takes to raise puppies.

Our Maltese are very healthy, they are fed a premium expensive quality food.

I would like to take a few more moments, if I may just to share these few precious thoughts with you, so you can try to understand the deep commitment we have as devoted Maltese breeders.

WHAT IT MEANS TO ME TO BE A MALTESE BREEDER

As a Maltese breeder I hunger for knowledge and learn new things every day.
Everyday is a new experience and more knowledge and experience is gained.
I never stop learning and we are always willing to learn more and take suggestions weighing them carefully with experience.

As a breeder I sacrifice personal interests, self time, vacations and sometimes lots of sleep!
I give up vacations, sometimes a day trip with the rest of the family if I have young puppies,
I cannot leave them alone. 

I have to plan ahead and be very careful and save money as I do not get a steady paycheck,
 
but money keeps going out every week, my dogs still need to eat, have regular vet check-ups and vaccines,
even when there are no puppies to sell.

As a breeder many times I have turned down dinner invitations because a litter is due or the babies have to be fed and cared for. 

As a responsible breeder I am right there assisting in the birthing process, delivering my own puppies.

As a breeder many my night are without sleep, many a night I spend watching anxiously and aiding a birth process, and afterwards, I watch over every little puppy, make sure they are all eating, watching every little wiggle or cry. 
After the puppies are born, assisting them sometimes for hours, especially a little one until they are all stable to eat on their own, can I catch an hour of zzz'z, only to get up again in an hour to make sure everyone is still ok, including a very tired mom and make sure her appetite is good and she is getting enough to drink.

As a breeder my hands are strong and firm and often soiled or stained.
There is no shame in hard working loving hands that our dogs can rely on for consistent care and love.
But as a breeder my hands ever so gentle and kind and sensitive to softly petting and soothing a puppy's cry and my sweet little darling dogs.

Many of my days are spent all day from early morning and all day caring for my dogs and any little puppies that we may have at the time.
I am the last one to go to bed in my family, many hours are spent patiently answering customers emails and sending updated pictures to clients who have purchased a puppy and it is not ready to go home yet.
I am the first one to rise in the morning as the sun comes up, or even before, so I can let my dogs out and give them fresh food and clean their water bowls and fill them again.

My afternoon never has time for tea, and lunch is always late,
my afternoons are full of caring for dogs, puppies. 
etc etc.

My afternoons are full of letting puppies outside to play on nice sunny days,
so they can get fresh air and don't have to spend all day in the house.

My lawn is full of weeds as I dare not spray for my little Maltese must have a safe place to run and play!

But we have more fun in our yard then you can imagine!

As a breeder I spend long hours planning a breeding or searching for a perfect sire or dam to breed.

As a responsible breeder I have to carefully place my puppies in good and loving homes, where I will not have to worry once my puppy leaves us.
Occasionally I have to say no to someone and believe me, this is harder on me then it is on them.
I need to be able to have peace once my puppies leave me and I will not if I make a mistake.
I wait for the right family to come along and sometimes it means holding a puppy longer, or even taking less money, but it is worth it in the long run.

As a breeder my lap is a marvelous place where proud parents have sat and fell asleep and sweet darling puppies have played, snuggled and snoozed. 
As a Maltese breeder I  have more kisses in one day then you can imagine,
 my dogs have so much love to give.

As a breeder sometimes my back, hands, feet are achy from working, bending and sitting up all night to assist a new mommy.  
  I give my dogs the best of care.

My arms are always open for hugs from my dogs!
My arms can hold an armful of puppies, or lend a helping hand to a customer who has many questions. 

My voice is kind, warm, gentle and inviting when I call or speak to my dogs because Maltese are sensitive and they need love.

Many times as I answer the phone of a customer calling they say to me "You sound out of breath", 
It seems like I am always running running running.

My breeding and hard work is all worth while when my ears hear expressions of appreciation
for a beautiful healthy puppy I have raised from birth and the new adoptive family is so pleased with their new addition.
Many times I hear, "this puppy is even better then we thought he would be!"
When I hear these reports, I beam with joy, all my efforts paid off.

My ears are always listening for the cry of a puppy in trouble and my feet quickly carry me to assist! 

As a breeder my eyes are sometimes red and have dark circles from staying up late and rising early and from many hours spent researching,
but I am always searching to improve my breeding.

As a breeder my mind is sharp and alert to quickly notice a puppy in danger.
My mind is so full of useful knowledge that I could write books of info. 

My memory is so full of beautiful puppy/mommy moments, I could fill a library of books. 
Sometimes my mind can be forgetful to recalling customers names and faces,
but I can recall all of my previous puppies names and faces. I never forget a puppy!
In fact if you tell me your puppy's name, then I will remember you!

As a breeder I have so many pictures of my dogs and puppies they fill albums and albums with puppies and precious memories.
I am thrilled when we receive a little email to let us know how our puppy is doing and share a photo with us, it warms my heart.

As a breeder I have learned patience,
I have to be patient to wait until a dog is a safe age to breed, not just able to breed.
I have to be patient with my puppies while they act like puppies act and patiently train them.
I am patient with my customers while they ask many questions and some have never owned a dog before.
There is no question too dumb to ask and every question has an answer and if I don't know the answer immediately,
I will research until I find the answer.

My heart is so soft and so tender full of love for her dogs and so huge, always enough room to love another puppy!
As a breeder my heart is often broken from losing a precious newborn puppy,
or watching a beloved older cherished dog fade away who was a best friend.
And I realize how just how helpless and powerless I really am and how precious life is!
Sometimes my heart misses a puppy because I became too attached while I raised it.
I go through my pictures and remember that puppy.

My heart beats strongly with love for my dogs and my puppies
when I have some and I hope everlasting and in time their is new life and puppies being born again
and my heart is always in the right place!
And I realize that we are lucky to be here and that our time is limited in knowing and sharing experiences with our beloved pets,
so we make each day count and make the best of each and everyday, full of hugs and kisses and play time.

And if I had a choice to be a breeder or not, I would definitely do it all again. 
The rewards are so astounding and the feeling of satisfaction you receive from a happy customer
with a beautiful photo and an updated little note from their dog.

Best of all is the kisses from my doggies and kisses from happy little Maltese puppies
and little white tails held up high over their backs wagging and happy smiling faces at me!

I LOVE BEING A MALTESE BREEDER!
AND I WOULDN'T HAVE IT ANY OTHER WAY!
